SalvationDATA VIP

SalvationDATA VIP is a commercial video forensics tool from SalvationDATA, a digital forensics company. It is designed to recover deleted, overwritten or corrupted footage from CCTV surveillance systems, DVRs and NVRs, often by carving video data directly from the drive when the recorder’s file system is damaged.

Investigators and law enforcement use it when video evidence has been deleted or a recorder has been reset. Compare it with free and commercial alternatives such as PhotoRec, Scalpel, Autopsy and X-Ways in our guide to the 7 best data carving tools.
